Why Health and Planning Are the Two Investments That Change Everything
Your wedding day is one of those rare moments in life where time seems to both slow down and fly by all at once. You plan for months, sometimes years - for a single day. The venue. The food. The music. The flowers. The guest list. Every detail is carefully considered so that when the day arrives, you can be fully present, immersed, and enjoying every second.
Back in 2015, my wife and I made a decision that completely changed our wedding-day experience: we invested in a wedding planner. We searched for a London and Home Counties Wedding Planner and we were lucky to find BusyBrides. Our intention was simple. We didn’t want to spend our wedding day thinking about logistics. We wanted to feel it. And thanks to Sian, that’s exactly what happened. The day was spectacular, seamless, and joyful.

Now, more than a decade later, I have reconnected with Sian, not just to reminisce, but to explore how naturally our worlds align. Alongside being a husband and father, I am also a personal trainer, and I have seen firsthand how powerful it can be when couples invest in their health ahead of their big day. This is the kind of wedding day preparation that helps you feel calm, capable and completely present, just as the right planning allows you to experience your day without distraction.
Why So Many Couples Train for Their Wedding - And Why It’s About More Than Looks
Let’s be honest, most people initially think about training for their wedding because they want to look good. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. You’ll be photographed, filmed, and remembered in that moment forever.
But what surprises most couples is this, the biggest benefits of training before your wedding have very little to do with aesthetics.
Yes, your body may change.
Yes, you may feel stronger and fitter.
But what truly shifts is how you feel - physically, mentally, and emotionally.
As a trainer, I’ve worked with many individuals and couples leading up to their wedding. And as someone who went through the process myself, I can confidently say this: training before your wedding changes how you experience your wedding day.
Energy, Confidence, and Presence on the Day That Matters Most
Weddings are long days. Early starts. Lots of standing. Social interaction. Emotion. Late nights.
Sian knows too well that this is why so many couples underestimate how demanding a wedding day really is. Your timeline may start at 6am. Hair and makeup, deliveries, ceremonies, multiple locations, hundreds of moving parts. Even the most chilled couples are “on” for twelve hours straight. When your body is supported, when you feel strong and grounded, your wedding day feels calm instead of exhausting. You don’t just get through it. You experience it.
When you’re physically prepared, you don’t just survive the day - you thrive in it.
Clients regularly tell me:
“I actually had energy the whole day.”
“I felt calm instead of overwhelmed.”
“I was confident being fully present instead of self-conscious.”
Training supports stress regulation, improves sleep, builds resilience, and creates a sense of control during what can otherwise feel like a very busy season of life. When emotions are high (and they will be), you’re grounded enough to enjoy them instead of being swept away by them.
Just like hiring a wedding planner allows you to step out of logistics and into the moment, having structured training allows you to step out of self-doubt and into confidence. One holds the day, the other holds you. When both are in place, the wedding becomes what it was always meant to be. A lived experience, not a performance.
I’ve walked this path myself. I trained for my own wedding. I’ve supported countless others through theirs. I know what works because I’ve lived it.

A Shared Philosophy: Support So You Can Be Present
This is why reconnecting with Sian feels so natural. Her role was to hold the structure so my wife and I could be fully immersed in our wedding day. My role is to help couples feel strong, calm, confident, and energised so they can truly live their experience - before, during, and after their wedding. Different services. Same intention. To support people during one of the most meaningful transitions of their lives.

As a UK wedding planner, I see first-hand how powerful it is when couples feel strong, calm and supported. When the logistics are handled and your body feels prepared, your wedding day stops being something to get through and becomes something you truly live
