Recently BusyBrides were invited by the wedding events team over at Chilston Park Hotel for a familiarisation stay, which we delightedly accepted. It is always nice to see new venues that we may not have otherwise come across.
So our first impressions when entering the premises were tree studded lanes and a long drive way that sits across 22 acres of parkland. We parked up and entered the hotel to a great welcome by the reception. After checking into our room, we headed for the bar as we had plenty of time to walk around and we took in all the portraits around the building and learnt from the bar staff that this hotel had been home to politicians and lords. It was a typical classic British country house hotel with style and charm with all the antiques whilst still felt a sense of modern design. They are also due a revamp in some areas in January of 2018.
So our visit started with an exclusive tour of their charming country house and one
of our personal favourite areas was the coach house, which had all the wonderful character of old stables that has been enhanced whilst retaining the great layout that you would only imagine from a stable yard. It is absolutely ideal for an intimate wedding and opens on to a courtyard, perfectly set for any summer wedding
Whilst they offer full exclusive use, they can accommodate two weddings, but as they are so separate, you could easily have your wedding day without seeing anyone else outside of your wedding party as each of the areas available are located far away from each other. They also do some great packages that include accommodation for you and your guests.
Then after our tour we had a stunning evening dinner with the lovely events team whilst also getting to meet other high end wedding planners. I finally got to meet the lovely girls behind the Wedding Dolls who were all so lovely. The hotel boasts award winning chefs in their fine dining restaurant, and I have to say the food excelled our expectations.
We turned in relatively early in the outrageously comfortable bed and lush plump pillows to watch TV, which greeted us the next morning with a great night’s sleep and feeling refreshed and ready for another day. We just didn’t want to get out of bed.
Then there was the breakfast, that I’m sure alone would have deserved an award on its own. We enjoyed beautiful well-manicured gardens whilst we enjoyed the vast continental breakfast followed by a huge menu of cooked offerings which would cater for all tastes and we certainly tucked in and enjoyed as much as our tummies could accept.
In summary this hotel offers a wide variety of unique feature bedrooms, from mews Classic double rooms to the Manor House master suites which are all called by names rather than numbers has 53 bedrooms, 7 of which are feature bedrooms and three master suites, and they all appear to protect the rich character whist bringing a modern guest service. This grade 1 listed hotel didn’t fail to leave us unsure of its pedigree and feels like the perfectly place an intimate wedding. In addition to that the wedding/events team were all absolutely smashing and so down to earth, just like their rooms, you would have a name, and never be just another number!
This romantic hotel is located in Lenham, only 9 miles from Leeds Castle and Chart Hills Golf Club and features a smoke free bar, lounge, coffee shop, café where you can enjoy afternoon tea and a free English breakfast for overnight guests along with free Wi-Fi and free parking.
They have kindly offered BusyBrides exclusive discounts that we are happy to pass on to our clients, so if you feel this will be a venue for you, get in touch with us and we can walk through your perfect day and put you in touch with the team at the hotel.
